All about Fabrics and Yarns

This course provides participants with an overview of the fundamental elements and processes of the garments and textiles industry. Each of its modules introduces a particular aspect of this industry, ranging from fundamental manufacturing elements such as fibres and fabrics, to specialized production processes such as dyeing and printing. In each module, participants will learn how to identify the characteristics and types of the element or process presented and assess the various properties that may make it suitable for their particular situation.

After completing this course, you will be able to:

Identify the different types of fibres, knitting techniques, dyeing techniques, woven fabrics, and printing techniques in use in the garments and textile industry today;
Describe the characteristics of each of these and assess their pros and cons for different situations; and
Use basic techniques and industry terms to apply these in their own business.

Course certification
